Book Chat With Tomorrow Died Yester Author, Chimeka Garricks

On the sixth of October, 2019, I hosted my first literary event with Chimeka Garricks, author of Tomorrow Died Yesterday. The novel was the September pick for my book club, The Indulgent Bibliophile.

Tomorrow Died Yesterday is only one of the most underrated contemporary novel by a Nigerian author. I will post a full review of the book next week, so watch out. This piece is more about the fact that I was able to host a literary event. One of many, I can’t wait to share more news with you.

The event started at 2:30 pm. We began with an ice-breaker game. Guests picked a question from a jar, introduced themselves and answered the question on the paper. I recommend this game for all book clubs. It’s a lovely way to get people to bond.

I had requested that attendees come with food and drink so that there is a variety of snacks and treats.

After refreshments and introductions, the book chat started. Mr Garricks is a very interesting writer and I can’t wait for you all to read this novel and his new collection of stories coming out in 2020.

When the book chat ended, we played one of my favourite games, 30 Seconds. My guests all fun and I can’t wait for the next event. I hope I will see you there.

Enjoy pictures from the event…
