Wow!
Hi guys! I missed you all so much. You can’t begin to imagine. I don’t even know if there is anyone to read this but if you’re still out there, please drop a message in the comments. To all the people who sent messages on Whatsapp, Twitter and Instagram, thank you so much for checking up on me.

It’s been five months since my last blog post and the good Lord knows it’s going to take a while to get back into the groove of things. I have been through so much that I decided the best way for me to compress my experience was to use the quarterly formats. We’re going to have to feng-shui this place a little, do a little springing and makeover. Who doesn’t like a makeover?

Let me not give too much away, the plans for the blog makeover will be shared at the end of this piece, let’s begin the review…

How’s work…

Remember I started work at an advertising agency last year? Yeah. I’m still there as a Copywriter. Although I was hired to work on copy and strategy, I just haven’t graduated to the strategy bit yet. In February, I got a side gig with an online magazine that tested skills that I didn’t even know I had. It ended in May and I have been focusing on the advertising gig, where I’m learning a lot. It also helps that I have really cool colleagues. (Oh my gosh, I miss gisting with you guys). I have taken baby steps towards owning my bookstore by starting an online bookstore, it will launch mid-July, fingers crossed.
Although the last two weeks have been a bit dull for me. I wake up pretty early and it’s a struggle to go through the day. Feeling a little uninspired, working on fixing that.

I Learned…

I learned a whole lot about myself these past months. Like;
– I’m stronger than I think I am.
– I really enjoy beer. I mean, I love the taste of beer
– A lot of people actually trust me and in me.
– I’m a damn good storyteller

Angry With…

I don’t think I’m angry at anything right now or with anything. I’m pretty chill with life at the moment.

Hopeful That…

The bookstore will become part of people’s lives. Not just as a business that is taking money but as a brand that adds value to the world.

Excited About…

Really, really, really excited about the store. It’s called Something Bookish. Please follow the IG page, it’s really interesting.

Hello there I'm not your regular bookseller. I like to think of myself as a bookish personal shopper. "Something Bookish" was born out of the need to share the reading experience. When I read a book, I want to shout from the rooftops about how it changed me, I want to share that with other people but it's hard to get books in this part of the world. This is where I come in, I seive through lots of text until I find the really amazing ones and offer them to you. I read every genre so I don't plan to to force my love for thrillers on you. What can you get at Something Bookish? *Books (New & Used) *Bookish Totes *Bookish Packages *Hand made journals *Really honest book reviews & recommendations. *Book chats. Random bookish finds will be uploaded on the page. We are about to start a revolution because reading is too important to ignore.

Any New Cravings…

Hmmm, nothing really comes to mind. Because of Ramadan, I haven’t had chicken wings in a while so maybe just that. I want to drown myself in chicken wings!

Movies I Saw…

I have been watching a lot of series because there is barely time to watch movies. Just started Dear White Girl, have you seen it? Recently finished Billions season 3 and HOLY SHIT BALLS!!!! I can not wait for season 4. Still on The Handmaid’s Tale, I really love that the adaptation has progressed. I only saw the popular movies like Avengers, Black Panther, Deadpool, the usual stuff. Nothing that stood out, Would you like to recommend a movie for me?

Music I’m Currently Enjoying…

I don’t think I have gone out of my way to dive into a particular sound, I just listen to whatever is on the radio.

What About Fashion Trends…

Absolutely nothing. I’m still on my “comfortable chic” style.

Looking Forward To…

Reviving the blogs. I have a couple of stories coming out on Purple and Posh, so watch out for that. More importantly, Lipglossmaffia’s Blog will be catering to people who love life and embrace it in all its forms. So, there will be articles on books, self-development, alcohol, and culture. It will be a fun ride, guys. Buckle up!
